Authors Note: This short story is based off the first sentence that my Language Arts teacher gave the class to make a short story from.
“Are you crazy? Its four o’clock in the morning!” said Bill
“no its actually five o’clock in the morning. You forgot to change your
clocks for daylight savings time” said Tom.
After hearing that Bill got up out of bed and got dressed for his morning chores on the farm. Before starting them he and Tom went downstairs and ate some scrambled eggs that their mom had just made from their own chickens eggs. With the eggs they had a cup of milk and a couple strips of bacon.
After they ate they put their dishes in the sink and walked outside.
Their routines each started in chicken coop collecting the eggs and feeding the chickens next they fed the sheep, then the pigs. After that they went to the stables and fed the horses that each year competed in competition at the state fair. They ended their daily routine by milking the cows which was both Bill and Tom’s favorite job. It was their favorite because they turned it into a competition to see who could get the most milk. Today Tom was victorious.
Now that they were done with their daily chores they washed up and got on the bus for school.
Good details. You've created a strong setting for your characters; it's simple and yet tells the reader much about their lives. Also it reminds me of A Day No Pigs Would Die.
